We made it! From the heart of Summer Mills

I’m writing the blog for yesterday because we were so caught up in what was going on here at Detroit Love that we forgot to write it last night. Yesterday we woke up and had breakfast at the hotel, and were on the road again by 6:30. I think a lot of our team slept most of the way, but my car was pretty awake and had a jam session the whole way. One of the highlights of the trip was a fruit stand we discovered by accident. As we pulled of the freeway for a bathroom break, Anna begged Nikki to stop there before we went on to McDonalds to use the restroom with the rest of the team. When we met up with the rest of them after, we told them they HAD to go there, because of the free samples. Everyone was pretty excited, and all three cars bought some fruit for the last leg of the trip. Overall, the road trip consisted of  singing, sleeping, Anna vlogging, and Chad’s trivia. As we pulled into Detroit I was pumped to be back. We arrived to the Detroit Love Building, and I could tell all of the first-timers were experiencing what I had felt last year. The rest of the day was filled with a trip to The Heidelberg Project, an art-filled neighborhood, and driving around some of the places we would be working this week. The evening was filled with games and laughter. We ended the day by starting our devos for the week, the book of Nehemiah. I am so excited to see what this week brings for us and those of Detroit!
